Enjoy being outside on the stunning Pisa Range with other ladies, learning something new while keeping fit and healthy this winter. Each of our two programs runs for 5 weeks and starts at 10:00 am on Sunday. 


The program is aimed to take all levels of cross-country skiers and will enable you to gain the confidence to explore all the wonderful trails Snow Farm has to offer. On the first day, the group will be assessed and split up into different skill levels.


Program:

July 15- Learning how to Diagonal Stride (Classic Ski)

  • Get comfortable with the equipment, learn about Classic ski gear

  • Ski around together looking at group levels and ability

  • How to warm-up to ski dynamic stretches/mobility

  • Stance and Balance-getting comfortable gliding on skis

  • Drills to improve balance and timing for diagonal stride


July 22- Downhill Technique/Uphill Climbing

  • Snow plow braking, side stepping, free glide
  • Herringbone, uphill diagonal stride


July 29- Double Pole, One-Step Double Pole

  • Review diagonal stride

  • How to change gears according to the terrain on course-ski a 2km trail


August 5- Ski to Meadow Hut

  • Ski 3.5km to Meadow Hut. Light snacks and refreshments provided in the hut, feel free to bring a snack
    to share with the group


August 12- Try Skate Skiing 

  • Learn the basics of skate skiing and understanding the equipment

  • Review Classic skiing technique and enjoy a ski together around the trails 


Get your group together now and start a carpool! Last years groups had a fantastic time. 

If you don't have a seasons pass or ski equipment, not to worry, add rentals and day passes for the entire program for $100.00 which you can add on after booking in for the sessions. 

What to wear: Be sure to bring: water bottle (you'll be surprised how thirsty you can get in the cold), temperature appropriate upper & lower body layers (not cotton), warm socks (but leave room for toes to wiggle), gloves or mitts, neck warmer and hat or beanie. Dress in layers as you will get warm. A waterproof or wind layer is good to have on hand.

If you need rentals, please arrive by at least 9:30 am so you can be fitted and ready to ski by 10:00 am.
