The MAC Wednesday Cross country Ski programme runs for eight weeks, starting on the 26th of July and ending on the 30th August

Learn, develop and expand your cross-country skiing ability. Whether it’s your first time or a seasoned skier, the Mac Wednesday program is your chance to get up on the hill mid-week and progress your cross-country skiing ability.

Students that participated last year will be assigned groups according to their previous achievement level. New Students will be assessed on the first day and then assigned into a group based on their ability.

Students leave school at 1:20 pm to arrive at Snow Farm by 2:00 pm, they will then get fitted with rental equipment, and the lesson starts at 2:15 pm and will have finished by 4:15 pm.

Depart Snow Farm for MAC by 4:30 pm and arrive at school by 5:15 pm.

Registration is free but full payment is required by the 15th of May.

Transport:

The school coordinates parents to bring kids up, and a van is provided for extra transport. Please contact the school if you can provide transportation for all or some of the days. Any help with transportation is much appreciated.

Any parent providing transport will be entitled to free rentals and trail passes for the day they provide transportation. A free lesson is also offered for those who want to give it a go.

Lesson Fee:

The cost for the Wednesday program is $76 for the 6-week program - plus any necessary passes and rentals, see below.

Season Pass and Rentals:

All students need to buy a season pass, this is the most economical option for passes, and if needed, rentals. It allows the students to come up anytime during the winter and can be used in conjunction with any Outdoor pursuits programs that occurs at Snow Farm.  Snow Farm is holding Early Bird rates for all Students in the Mac Wednesday Program. Family passes are also available at discounted rates.

Lesson Structure:

The programme outline will vary depending on groups and abilities. Our goal will be to balance the amount of classic skiing and skating for each group depending on their ability. New skiers for example will have more sessions on Classic as they build up their ability levels and fitness, and more advanced skiers will spend more time skating. All groups will spend time on both disciplines.

This year with the additional time our lessons will be split in half, with the first hour spent teaching new skills and the second hour practising those skills and concerning new trails each week!

Snow Farm Academy

The Snow Farm Academy runs for 6 Saturdays from the 30th of July until the 3rd of September. Kids will be taught for 2 hours on a Saturday afternoon from 1 pm to 3 pm. The program culminates with the participants competing in the Merino Muster on the 3rd of September supported by their coaches.
